HOW TO READ STONE ISLAND ART NUMBERS.
To find out the age [year / season of a Stone Island piece you have to understand the first 2 numbers on the art number. The first 2 numbers represent a 2 digit number, which goes up a number every season and up 2 numbers every year. For example, if the first 2 numbers of the art number is 70 that means that the item is from the spring / summer 2019 collection, which means 71 represents the Autumn / Winter 2019 collection and so on. We know it can be a ball ache trying to figure out the age of a piece with the 2 examples we just mentioned, so we made a chart which covers pieces made from 1990 - 2025 [See Chart Below].
What is an ART Number?
An ART Number is a string of numbers that identifies certain qualities about that item.
In Stone Island's case the numbers describe the Year, Season, Brand, Garment Type, Materials Used, Colours and Treatment process - in this exact order. You'll find this number on the front page of the washing label. This should be on every piece since 1986.
Examples:
[ 2014 Autumn / Winter ]
[ 2010 Spring / Summer ]
Art Number Year / Season Chart.
With the chart below use the first 2 numbers of the art number to find out the year and season of your piece.
